Artemis II is underway, carrying four astronauts around the moon on a 10-day mission to test systems for later lunar flights and an eventual moon base.

Victor Glover, who grew up in Pomona, will pilot NASA's first crewed flight to the moon since 1972. If successful, he'll be the first Black person to reach the moon.

NASA's Artemis 2 will send four astronauts to circle the moon without landing on it. The mission will set the stage for a human moon landing in 2028.
